Newark student with hopes of winning Miss Junior Teen GB makes it to the final round

A student has hopes of winning a national beauty pageant.

Caitlin Gregory, 15, from Newark, is one step closer to reaching her dreams after making the final of Miss Junior Teen GB, which takes place at Blackpool’s Globe Theatre.

And there could be double celebrations for the beauty queen, who is the youngest ever contestant to reach the regional stages of a contest that leads to the Miss England finals.

But for now, her supportive mum Amy Turner said her focus was on winning the Miss Junior Teen GB crown.

“She is hoping she will get the title,” said Amy.

“I believe she will win, but you never know what the judges are looking for.

“At Miss Galaxy she was competing against women, so this time she will be one of the oldest in her group (13-15 year old’s).”

Amy said she was proud of her daughter, who attends Newark Academy.

“The pageants have given her much more confidence, because she was a quiet girl at school.

“We have done a lot of charity work together too and she always found time to cope with everything, even with her GCSE’s and extra tuition.

“She has the brains and the beauty.”

Caitlin has also been getting industry experience under her belt, having completed work placements and taken part in modelling events.

“For 15, she is doing very well and I couldn’t be more proud,” said Amy.

Caitlin said she took advice for Miss Junior Teen GB from Miss Intercontinental England Georgia Nickerson, also from Newark.

The finals take place next weekend.
