The festival returns to the Cat Asylum Brewery in Collingham on Saturday September 16 from 7–9pm for a fantastic event featuring musicians from Broken Instruments and experts from the Newark School of Violin-Making as part of Heritage Open Days.

They’ll be talking about the ways in which music can inspire, uplift and save us from the darkest of times. This event is free, but you must book in advance.

If you’ve just finished a book and you’re looking for another good read, check out the next book & jigsaw swap event at Newark Library on Saturday September 23, 9am-1pm.

Bring a book, take a book, and donate towards next year’s festival too. This will be the last swap event of the year so all books must go.

Join the team at the National Holocaust Centre and Museum on Sunday October 1 for a talk with award-winning historical fiction author Clare Harvey, who will be chatting about the real women who inspire her fiction, and how she’s finding new ways of uncovering forgotten voices from the past through writing.

A must for fans of history and historical fiction alike. Final details and booking links will be live on the National Holocaust Centre and Newark Book Festival websites soon.

Monthly Morning News sessions have been launched at Gannets on Castlegate in Newark on the first Sunday of every month at 10am, the next one being Sunday October 1. Join the team for a coffee and the chance to discuss the latest news and hot topics.
