NFU Mutual Newark nominated Beaumond House Hospice Care for significant donation through its national £1.92mi Agency Giving Fund

NFU Mutual agents and their staff at the Newark agency recently nominated Beaumond House Hospice Care to receive a donation of more than £6,443.

The money came from NFU Mutual’s national £1.92mi Agency Giving Fund.

The leading rural insurer launched the fund, now in its fourth year, to help local frontline charities across the country.

The Agency Giving Fund forms part of NFU Mutual’s £3.25m funding pledge for both local and national charities in 2023, to assist with recovery from the pandemic and to help tackle the impact of the rising cost of living.

To ensure these donations reach all corners of the UK and are directed where they’re needed most, all NFU Mutual agencies, with more than 295 offices nationwide, have been given the opportunity to nominate local charities to receive a share of the fund.

This donation has enabled Beaumond House Hospice Care to continue their vital work. Beaumond House has been committed to providing supportive palliative care to patients and their families living in Newark and district since 1987.

They have four in-patient beds for people with palliative care needs, day therapy as well as the hospice at home service providing compassionate support in the community.

Andrew Smith, senior agent at the Newark agency said: “NFU Mutual has been a champion of rural communities the length and breadth of the UK for over 110 years, and the Agency Giving Fund champions local causes that are working day and night to change people’s lives and give hope for a better future. We’re extremely proud to have nominated Beaumond House Hospice Care for this donation and are delighted to be able to support the vital contribution they make to our community.”

Karen Brown, head of care at Beaumond House, said: “We want to thank the Newark agency of NFU Mutual so much for nominating our charity to receive a donation from the NFU Mutual Agency Giving Fund. Your contribution will make such a considerable difference to the care we can offer our patients – local people facing very real health and emotional challenges.”
