Nottingham Forest Community Trust’s soccer schools to visit Newark's YMCA and The Joseph Whitaker School, Rainworth in August
Nottingham Forest Community Trust’s soccer schools will make their long-awaited return to Newark this August.
The trust, which aims to engage, inspire and empower people across Nottinghamshire through education, events and programmes, was forced to cancel all of its soccer schools last year as a result of coronavirus restrictions.
However, due to the gradual easing of lockdown rules throughout 2021 — especially those surrounding outdoor recreational sport — the charity is now in a position to restart its popular sessions once again next month.
All of the trust’s schools are officially endorsed by Nottingham Forest Football Club and each session is delivered by a qualified professional coach.
This will give children access to a range of activities, events and competitions, as well as a chance to get outdoors, get active and socialise with friends.
Sessions in Newark take place at the YMCA, off Bowbridge Road, on August 4, 11, 18 and 25.
They also visit The Joseph Whitaker School, Rainworth, on August 2, 9, 16 and 23.
Head of programmes Declan Barker said: “Over the years, the schools have proven to be incredibly popular with children, giving them a chance to take part in exciting activities while keeping fit and healthy outdoors.
“They provide a great way of keeping active and give the kids a chance to get away from screens for a day and socialise doing something they love. We’re as excited as the children for the return of the sessions.”
