Fernwood Day Nursery celebrates its 15th birthday
A nursery has celebrated its 15th birthday.
Fernwood Day Nursery held a stay and play session alongside a garden party for all current children and their families.
Parents joined their children to engage in activities within the nursery, which was followed by a garden party with an entertainer doing a magic show, plate-spinning and balloon-modelling.
There was also a ball pool and soft play for the younger children and a face-painter along with fairground games such as hook-a-duck.
Kelly Dowling, the nursery manager, has worked at the setting since it opened in September 2008 and said: “It was a fantastic event where we were able to welcome children with their families into the setting to enjoy games and activities as part of our celebration of 15 years.
“The stay and play sessions and the party were both well attended, and we were blessed with a sunny day which made it even more enjoyable.
“We are privileged to be a part of the early learning journey of all the children that attend our setting and we wanted to celebrate this milestone with those children that make it worthwhile every day.”
The nursery children were joined by older children from the out of school club to sing happy birthday before blowing out candles on a special cake that was then shared with everyone.
