Children at Serendipitys Day Nursery, Appletongate, Newark, learn about healthy food after winning two luxury hampers




Children at a day nursery are looking forward to learning more about healthy food and where it comes from after winning two luxury hampers.

Serendipitys Day Nursery, on Appletongate, Newark, won the hampers as part of a survey among early years providers about childhood obesity.

The nursery won one hamper containing fruit and vegetables, and another of meat.

Childcare practitioner Thomas Pickering, nursery cook Jo Marshall and two pre-school children are pictured with one of the hampers.

Thomas said: “The children are excited to help prepare the food for their meals and learn about different foods, where they come from and why they are healthy.

“At Serendipitys Day Nursery we have a passion for healthy eating and promoting it within our setting and working in partnership with local services and families to support the health of our children.”
