Off-licence shut down

An off-licence has closed following illegal use of its premises.

Ali Green’s Off-Licence on Cartergate, Newark, is believed to have closed on Friday.

It had been open as an off-licence for a number of months.

This week the shelves were completely empty and a sign on the window said that it was closed.

Mr Paul Inman, licensing officer for Newark Police, said: "There has been a number of incidents about the illegal use of the premises over the past three months and to the best knowledge of Nottinghamshire Police the owner has ceased trading."
