Nottinghamshire Police appeal for information and witnesses after report of damaged cash machine in Cropwell Bishop
Police are appealing for information and witnesses after a reports of an attempt to steal money from a cash machine.
Officers were called to the Co-op on Nottingham Road, Cropwell Bishop, on Sunday at around 8am.
It is thought unknown offenders used a tool to cut the exterior of the cash machine between 1am and 2am that day.
Officers believe no cash was stolen in the incident.
Detective Sergeant Luke Todd, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "This was clearly an attempt at damaging a cash machine to the point at which cash could have been stolen. "While the offenders were unsuccessful, they have damaged the machine and it will need significant repair work in order for it to function again.
"We do not believe this incident is linked to other reports of ATM breaks."
Police have urged anyone with information or dashcam footage that could assist the investigation, to contact Notts Police on 101 quoting incident number 210 of December 15.
