Officers' efforts earn force awards
The Nottinghamshire Police student officer of the year is Pc Mark Brandreth.
Pc Brandreth, 26, based at Newark, joined the force 18 months ago. He has also served at Ollerton and Blidworth.
The force said he was recognised for the high quality service given to victims he had dealt with, and exceptional self-motivation and professionalism.
The Special Constabulary officer of the year is Special Inspector Steve Kemp.
Based at Newark, the 40-year-old became a Special constable four years ago.
He is said to have demonstrated a first-class approach to colleagues and the public.
He was promoted to sergeant in 2007 before becoming an inspector in November 2008.
His duties include helping to arrange cover at events such as Newark’s carnival and half-marathon.
The winner of the police community support officer of the year was Helen Russell-Taylor, who works in the Safer Neighbourhood team at Canning Circus, Nottingham.
Chief Inspector Glenn Harper said: “Once again B Division has dominated these awards as it has for the past three years.
“It is a reflection of the quality of staff we have here and a measure of the service that they provide to the public.”
The Chief Constable, Julia Hodson, said: “Right from new recruit to officers at the point of retirement it is clear that we have talented and totally committed staff who are proud to serve the public in Nottinghamshire.”
