Police on off-road motorcycles were again seeking out nuisance and illegal riders at the weekend.

The team patrolled the Newark area and quarries in Girton, Langford, as well as the woods at Edwinstowe.

An imported quad bike that was not taxed or insured was seized in Edwinstowe.

The team leader Sergeant John Madin said it would be crushed.

A second quad rider was served with a notice warning him his bike would be confiscated if he caused a nuisance again.

The officers stopped 93 motorcycles during roadside checks on Sunday on the A616 Worksop Road, Ollerton.

Two vehicle defect forms were issued along with eight cautions for various other faults.

Everyone stopped was given advice about riding safely.
