The Old Post Office, Newark, will serve alcoholic drinks from 8am during the Rugby World Cup
A pub in Newark can serve alcohol from as early as 8am.
Starting tomorrow, The Old Post Office, on Kirkgate, will serve alcoholic drinks from 8am to meet the needs of rugby fans.
It follows the start of the Rugby World Cup, which kicks off tomorrow (September 20) at 11.45am.
A spokesperson for The Old Post Office said: “The Old Post Office has been granted a licence extension during this year’s Rugby World Cup, which will enable it to open and serve customers from 8am on match days.
"The site will close temporarily on Monday, November 4, for a refurbishment, and when it reopens on Saturday, November 16, opening hours will be permanently extended, allowing The Old Post Office to open and serve food and drinks from 8am Monday to Saturday and from 9am on Sunday."
The pub's closing hours will remain the same.
The tournament comes to a close on November 2.
