Speed climber Matthew Fell, a member of the Great Britain Olympic Team, is a regular visitor at the centre.

Luke Mansfield, climbing centre manager, said: “Climbing is a fantastic hobby and we welcome people of all ages and abilities here, from children to people in their 80s.

“Whether you come along to a session alone or with friends, you are sure to have a great time and our expert coaches will be on hand to help you get the most out of the experience.

“The climbing scene is booming, especially among women, and its popularity is sure to continue. Climbing brings so many benefits for both physical and mental health.

“It’s all about learning to challenge yourself In a supportive environment, and knowing that you can fail, then get right back up again and learn from those mistakes.

“Members of the climbing community are used to travelling far and wide, from Sheffield to Shrewsbury, but now we have a great modern indoor facility right here in Newark.”

The centre has hundreds of different features and challenges for different levels of climbers, with instructor-led sessions available throughout the week.

There are around 60 rope climbs and 120 boulder problems to negotiate. Climbers can tackle vertical, overhang and slab climbing in the bouldering zone.

The IFSC Olympic-standard speed wall provides a timer for speed climbing and training.

Bookings can be made here, where membership options are also available.

Luke said: “From seasoned climbers to complete newcomers, we can’t wait to welcome you to this wonderful new facility.”
