Morton celebrates coronation of King Charles III with community photo

One Generation, Two Coronations – that was the subject of a village community photograph taken at a parish celebration.

The picture taken in Morton was for people who were born before June 3, 1953, as this was the second coronation in their lifetime.

There was also a photo of those who lived in Morton or had celebrated the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in the village.

These photos will now form part of the Fiskerton cum Morton history archive.

Morton’s coronation event took place on May 7, at the Arthur Radford Ground, and was a Family Day, with fun games to join in.

Southwell Croquet Club was there for people to try the sport and Scott Loach, a Derby County goalkeeper, ran a penalty shootout.

There was live music and many people sat and enjoyed the day.

There was also a children's coronation tea party.

Fiskerton, a combined parish with Morton, held its celebrations a day prior.
