NHS England applies to Newark and Sherwood District Council to extend temporary vaccination at Nottingham Trent University Brackenhurst Campus in Southwell
A planning application for the continuing use of a university campus as a temporary covid vaccination centre was unanimously approved.
The Brackenhurst Campus, part of Nottingham Trent University in Southwell was used as a temporary vaccination centre during the pandemic.
NHS England applied to Newark and Sherwood District Council for an extension of the use of the auditorium at the campus for vaccinations in Spring and Autumn 2023.
The right to use the centre in a non-health related building was due to expire on December 31, 2022.
The vaccinations are proposed to continue within the auditorium building at weekends.
It is likely to be required for a maximum of 15 weeks.
District council planning committee member Mathew Skinner moved the extension until after Easter time.
All members at the meeting voted to approve the application.
