Opening date announced for Bingham Aldi
A golden envelope will be handed to each of the first 100 customers through the door of a new supermarket which will open on March 24.
People entering Aldi, on Nottingham Road, Bingham, when it opens its doors at 8am will be in with a chance of winning a 55" TV, tablet PCs, radios and bags of Aldi shopping.
The store will be officially opened by children from the Bingham Town Juniors FC under-8s girls and boys team, which will be sponsored by Aldi for the next three years.
Bingham Town Mayor Mrs Tracey Kerry will attend, address customers in the queue and officially welcome Aldi to the town.
The 1,254sqm store will have a 104-space carpark and had created more than 20 new jobs.
It will be the fourth supermarket in Bingham following Co-op, Sainsbury's and Lidl.
Shoppers can expect to find around 1,500 product lines including fresh, locally-sourced produce.
Some products will be on offer during the opening week including a smartphone and a steam mop.
Store manager Mr Adam Caffrey said: "The team and I are looking forward to the store opening and with plenty of golden ticket prizes up for grabs, we’re hoping for a good turnout.
"The Bingham community has been so welcoming so far and we’d like to thank everyone for their patience during the development."
The store will open 8am-10pm Monday to Friday, and 10am-4pm on Sundays.
