Newark and Sherwood District Council appeals after another lost dog found

A council is appealing after another lost dog was found near Newark.

Only last week the council issued some advice to dog owners after an increase in lost dogs. The authority discovered eight stray dogs in just seven days.

You can prevent your dog from becoming a stray by following these steps:

• Ensure your dog is wearing a collar with a name tag
• All dogs over the age of eight weeks should be microchipped
• Check that your garden is fenced suitably and gates and doors are secure
