Pair convicted after elderly Farnsfield woman finds shotgun and ammunition in her garden
A man and woman have been found guilty of firearms offences after an elderly Farnsfield woman found a shotgun and ammunition in her garden.
Ashley Cumberpatch, 34, formerly of Amesbury Circus, Nottingham, and Kelly Duong, 31, of Kelham Drive, Nottingham, were convicted by a jury on Friday.
After a trial at Nottingham Crown Court, Cumberpatch was found guilty of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and possession of a firearm without a certificate. Duong was found guilty of possession of a firearm without a certificate.
The pair were forensically linked to the sawn-off shotgun and cartridges found wrapped up in bags by an elderly Farnsfield woman at the bottom of her garden on October 25, 2017.
The items were secured by police and DNA was recovered linking them to Cumberpatch and Duong.
After Friday's convictions Cumberpatch was remanded in custody and is next due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court for sentencing on September 4, 2019.
Duong was granted bail and is due to appear for sentencing on the same date.
