Awards for Southwell Flower Club members at Harrogate Flower Show

Two members of Southwell Flower Club won awards at the Harrogate Autumn Flower Show.

Paula Routledge and Jade Loftus submitted entries to the flower arranging division of the flower show.

Paula, who owns Floral Media in Caunton, was awarded best in show in the division for her entry to the Tantalising Curves class.

Each class has between 10-12 entrants. The best in show winner is picked from all the class winners in the division.

Paula also gained a third in the May Contain Nuts class.

Jade came second in the Woolly Thinking category.

The next step for the pair is the Chelsea Flower Show.

"We've been thinking about it but you have to prepare months in advance," Jade said.

"It's difficult to get in, you have to have a portfolio of designs but it's something we want to do at some point," added Paula.

To enter Harrogate, entrants must be a member of the National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies.

It's the first time they've both been to the autumn show although they've entered the Harrogate Spring Flower Show twice before.
