What will be on Newark’s Palace Theatre throughout March
Sure put a spring in your step in March, the month of entertainment at Newark’s Palace Theatre begins with Seven Drunken Nights - The Story Of The Dubliners, on the 1st.
Direct from the West End and riding high on the success of world tours, Seven Drunken Nights brings the ultimate feel-good Irish show to the stage.
A talented cast of seasoned musicians are dedicated to bringing the music of this iconic group back to life.
Steeped in song, story and revelry, this spectacular tale celebrates The Dubliners, Ireland’s favourite musical sons in authentic style.
This critically-acclaimed production spans half a century, invoking the spirit of Ronnie Drew, Luke Kelly, Barney McKenna, John Sheahan, Ciaran Bourke and Jim McCann.
Then get stuck into the the music of Lionel Richie with Malcolm Pitt’s show Lionel on March 7.
Malcolm Pitt has appeared with Lionel Richie himself on Sunday Night at The Palladium and the Graham Norton Show.
He delivers a powerhouse and performance in this high-octane show celebrating the music of Lionel Richie and the Commodores, who were responsible for hits such as Easy, Three Times A Lady, Hello, and Dancing On The Ceiling.
This award winning five-star production also features a stellar line-up of world class musicians including musical director, Jonny Miller from Talon.
Henry Cole is at the Palace on March 13 with a second serving of his stage show, An Evening With Henry Cole.
The popular presenter of The Motorbike Show, Shed & Buried and Junk & Disorderly is back with more tales and his life and 32-year career in the TV and movie industry.
The show will be hosted by his long-time friend and motorcycle racer Steve Parrish.
He is followed the next day by award-winning British garden designer and BBC Gardeners’ World presenter, Adam Frost.
In his most personal show to date, Adam will discuss the plants that have shaped his life and reflect on what’s brought him to where he is now.
He’ll unearth the inspiration he’s found through a life in the garden, the people he’s met along the way, the music that’s steered his course.
Adam will share previously untold stories of how his passion for plants has taken him around the world and challenged him with unexpected experiences – from curating a garden in Japan during a monsoon to meeting heroes.
Next up is Cloudbusting - The Music Of Kate Bush on March 21, with vocalist Mandy Watson.
Featuring material from across Kate’s hugely successful catalogue of albums, the show includes classic hits such as Wuthering Heights, Babooshka and Hounds of Love, as well as Running Up That Hill - the worldwide number one hit single that took the charts by storm 37 years after its first release.
Finally, Newark Amateur Operatic Society take to the stage to close the month with their production of Shrek The Musical.
In their 90th anniversary production, they tackle the stage musical based on the hit movie.
It is staged at the Palace from Thursday, March 27, to Sunday, March 30.
