Snow White cast arrives as Newark Palace Theatre officially launches Christmas Pantomime

A classic pantomime is set to come to Newark this festive season as Snow White arrives at the Palace Theatre.

People had a taste of the panto as the cast was out and about in their costumes promoting the theatre.

Actress Cait O’Malley is cast in the main role of Snow White and Mark Siney, who has been with the production company – Jordan Productions – for over 10 years, will play the iconic Dame Dotty.

“The Dame is a very funny and very silly silly silly character,” said Mark.

He added: “This is a very funny panto, the script is amazing, we have a fabulous cast and we are working really hard to make everybody laugh this Christmas.

“Everybody needs a laugh at the moment and that’s what we are there for.

“We want everyone to come along and have a really really good time.”

The panto tells the story of Snow White’s adventure to meet Dame Dotty, her son Herbie the Huntsman and the magnificent seven on a journey through the enchanted forest.

Dave Bibby, who is performing Herbie the Huntsman has played the same role with the company before and looks forward to bringing the action to Newark.

“We want this year to be faster, funnier, bigger, better, more techniques, more magical, but make it better every year.

“Snow White is just such a classic story and we will pack it with pop songs, and fun jokes but the actual story is lovely, it is friendship and love, and it is everything you want from a pantomime.

“There is something for everyone, for the little ones, there is a lot of silly comedy in which they can shout and join, booing, cheering and laughing all the way through and for the older people there’s a few jokes that will go over the children’s heads.”
