Parents can find out more about free school
Meetings are being organised for the week of January 14 for parents interested in sending children to Newark’s proposed Free School, Exemplar Newark Business Academy.
The appointment of a principal is expected in the coming days — the next major step towards the school opening in September 2013.
A spokesman for the team behind Exemplar said: “These meetings will be a great opportunity for parents who want to find out more about our school and how their children will benefit from attending.
“There will be plenty of time for parents to ask us anything about the school and why we think parents should choose to send their child to ENBA.”
Meetings will be at the Bridge Community Centre and Coddington Primary School.
Dates and times are to be confirmed. It is hoped the principal designate will attend.
Exemplar would not have a designated faith status, but would be based on a Christian ethos.
The Department for Education has looked at several sites and an announcement is expected soon on its chosen location.
Free Schools are funded by the Government and have greater freedom than schools run by local authorities.
