Party in Sconce and Devon park to be held for the Queen's birthday




A portrait of the Queen decorated with flags has been put in the window of a park café to mark her 96th birthday tomorrow (Thursday, April 21).

The photograph, taken by Dorothy Wilding, is on display at Rumbles café on Sconce and Devon Park, Newark.

It was donated by town and district councillor Laurence Goff, who is organising a party in the park to mark the Queen’s birthday.

From 2pm to 5pm, activities will take place outside Rumbles café.

They include games, circus skills, and a recycling game.

Mr Goff will also be flying flags in the the park on Saturday to mark St George’s Day.
