Party in the park in Nottinghamshire to celebrate 40 years of the U3A
Twenty U3A groups from across Nottinghamshire are getting together to party in the park to mark the organisation’s 40th anniversary.
The U3A encourages life-long learning in over a thousand groups around the UK. There are 34 in Nottinghamshire alone.
To mark the anniversary, U3A groups in Nottinghamshire will be gathering at Highfields Park, by the Lakeside complex and Nottingham University, for an afternoon of music and fun on September 24 from 1pm.
“We hope to see many people there to celebrate together in the usual U3A way,” said Rosie Allen, one of the event’s organisers.
“It’s going to be a grand celebration and a chance for those not already in the know to learn more about us.”
Everyone is welcome to enjoy the day and learn more about the U3A.
In Bingham, the Queen’s diamond jubilee beacon will be lit again at the Buttercross at noon on Tuesday.
