Patients and staff were evacuated from an Emergency Department in the early hours of this morning.

The fire has been extinguished, but the Emergency Department (A&E and Urgent Treatment Centre) remains closed at this time.

You should not attend the department at the moment.

Patients who were due to attend a scanning appointment today (X-ray, CT or MRI) are also asked not to attend the hospital. Radiotherapy is unaffected. All affected patients will be contacted.

Most outpatient appointments will go ahead this afternoon (with the exception of some fracture clinics where patients will be contacted directly and their appointments re-arranged).

Patients attending outpatients are asked to arrive through the main entrance, rather than the usual outpatients entrance.
