Jane Shelton, who has debilitating physical constraints, decided to join the programme to show her children that, despite your conditions, anything can be achieved.

Throughout the next few weeks, Jane will be taking her first flying sessions.

“I am really excited to begin my journey,” she said.

“When I first applied to be a part of the FSDP programme, I never thought I would make the final selection of scholars.

“But here we are and I will start flying in the next few weeks.”

Ableworld’s senior marketing manager Ellie Emerton and marketing manager Grace Hughes attended the Scholarship Presentation Ceremony where the scholars received their certificates.

The ceremony took place at the Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, where the sponsors got to meet with their scholars.

“It was such an amazing experience to see each of the scholars’ excitement for what’s to come in the programme,” said Grace.

“It was a wonderful and enjoyable day for all.

“We are really excited to see our scholar, Jane’s journey and see what she achieves over the next few weeks as she starts her flying training.”
