Newark and Caythorpe photographers capture lockdown moments of a lifetime through their lenses

Photographers are doing their best to capture the moment and create a memory of a lifetime during their one hour of daily exercise.

Up and down the country photographers are taking lockdown family photos in what could be a very personal and memorable picture in years to come.

In Newark, Claire Andrews, of Little Posy Photography, is snapping household photos from a distance as part of her daily walk around Beacon Heights.

Claire said the reception had been positive.

She said: “I missed taking photos first and foremost and, although the mood is a bit solemn at the moment, we could look back in years to come and say actually, we had more time with family.

“In my case, I have spent more time with the children and we have been lucky to have this glorious weather.

“People are getting jobs done that they normally wouldn’t and it is really about trying to spin this situation in a positive way, and everybody who I have seen is thinking that way.”

She said in years to come families could look back at the photo and smile.

Another photographer, Richard Hall, a mature second year student at Lincoln College, is taking family pictures in Caythorpe, Lincolnshire.

“There are 560 houses in the parish and I have photographed a quarter of the village now,” he said.

“I’m ashamed to say I have been in the village ten years now and I don’t know some of the people I have photographed, so in that sense the photos are bringing the community together because there is a bit of banter between people on the pictures and there are lovely comments between people.”

He plans to publish a book with all of the pictures in and will use it as part of his degree. His album can be seen at https://www.flickr.com/photos/146272443@N05/albums/72157713740850722

Neither Claire or Richard have charged for the pictures, however, Claire has asked for those who are in a position to, to donate to the NHS.

Those who donate £5 to https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/nypsocial will be entered into a raffle, which includes prizes donated from local businesses.

The winners will be revealed on May 28.
