Newark and Sherwood: Non-essential shops, hairdressers, salons, pubs, restaurants and gyms re-open today
Today is the day businesses have eagerly welcomed back their customers after some lockdown measures were lifted overnight.
It means you can head out now to have a pint with your breakfast, see if a salon can fit you in for a quick trim or spend some of your lockdown savings on a clothing haul.
However, Prime Minister Boris Johnson had urged the nation to behave responsibly as non-essential shops, hairdressers, salons, pubs, restaurants and gyms re-open in England.
Some pubs and hairdressers opened at midnight, while shoppers were queuing outside shops like Primark in Nottingham early this morning.
Shops are allowed to open from 7am to 10pm to help prevent overcrowding.
We will have more on the lifting of lockdown measures later today.
