Concerns have been raised about the state of a play area in Bingham.

At a meeting yesterday, the chairman of Bingham Town Council’s recreation and cemetery committee, Mr Frank Kerry, said he had received complaints from parents and grandparents of children who use Carnarvon play area.

He said the play area, which is 20 years old, was in urgent need of repair.

“It looks like it has totally fallen apart. The fence is in bits. We really ought to be ashamed of ourselves," he said.

“I went across to see it and I think Carnarvon play area is a matter of priority.”
