Funding approved for major renovation at Riverside Play Park in Newark




A £100,000 grant is to fund a major play park renovation, and ensure it is accessible to children with physical and sensory needs.

The FCC Communities Foundation has approved the major grant to Newark Town Council, and it will be used to extensively renovate Riverside Play Park, on Tolney Lane.

The upgraded play park will include equipment to accommodate children with physical and sensory needs, to benefit both residents and visitors to Newark.

Anna Lawson, deputy town clerk, believes the facility will make a huge difference to the lives of people living in the area.

She said: “This project will provide a real boost to the people of Newark. It is fantastic that FCC Communities Foundation has awarded us this money and we are looking forward to our play park taking shape over the next six months”

FCC Communities Foundation is a not-for-profit business that awards grants for community projects through the Landfill Communities Fund.
