Hall Farm, Weston, backs Macmillian Cancer Support with seven-mile swim with coffee morning to come

A plucky trio swam seven miles to raise money for Macmillian Cancer Support.

Every year, Hall Farm at Weston takes part in the MacMillan Coffee Morning.

This year, siblings Emily, 20, and Samuel, 13, Stronach and their friend Ruby, 9 decided to take part in a swim through July and August to raise even more money.

“Macmillan Cancer Support is very close to our hearts here at Hall Farm. Not just losing family, friends to cancer but customers who visit our shop and café have sadly been fighting or lost their battle to cancer,” said Emily.

The initial target was £500, however, they have raised over £1,200.

The distance swum was the equivalent of Big Ben to the Tower of London along the Thames.

“I used to swim in competitions but I got an injury in my hip so I needed to get back into swimming. I haven’t swam in three or four years so it was a hard but amazing challenge,” said Emily.
