Police appeal for Newark men who helped sexual assault victim

Police officers are appealing for two men from Newark who helped a victim of a sexual assault to come forward.

A woman in her 20s was sexually assaulted on High Street, Lincoln, at around 3.10am on Monday, Lincolnshire Police said.

The woman had been approached by a man while standing alone outside The Works.

The man started chatting to her and sexually assaulted her.

She managed to escape but he was persistent and tried to assault her again.

It is believed the offender may have then harassed other women in the area.

Two men came to the victim's assistance and told the woman they were from Newark.

Lincolnshire Police would also like to hear from any women who may have been harassed by the same man.

The suspect is described as black, in his mid 30's, of a slim build, 6ft tall with short black hair, a short beard and a moustache.

He was wearing a black and red checked shirt.

Anyone with information should call 101 and quote incident 67 of August 28.
