Nottinghamshire Police appeal: Attempted robbery in Millgate, Newark
A man walking through Newark town centre was approached and nearly had a pair of headphones stolen.
Officers are now appealing for information and witnesses following the attempted robbery in Millgate, Newark.
The victim was walking when a man approached him. The man offered the victim £10, which he didn't take, before he attempted to assault him.
Police Constable Dean Oliver is leading the investigation. He said: "Officers were called following the report of the attempted robbery on January 4, 2021 at around 6pm.
"Thankfully the victim suffered no injuries, but has been left distressed following the incident.
"The offender then attempted to grab the victim's headphones and the victim struggled to shrug him off.
"He then attempted to assault the victim, before he ran away in the direction of Pelham Street.
"The offender has been described as 5'10'' tall and mixed race.
"If anyone saw anything or has any information please call 101, quoting 267 of 5 January 2021."
