Police hunt masked bookmaker robbers
Police want to hear from anyone who saw masked men who robbed a Calverton bookmaker’s shop on Wednesday (February 6)
It happened at around 7.20pm when three men in dark-coloured balaclavas entered Coral Bookmakers in St Wilfrid’s Square.
They threatened two female staff members with a knife and demanded money.
There was also a customer in the shop at the time of the robbery.
All were shaken by the ordeal, but no one was injured.
The suspects fled with a quantity of cash in what is believed to be a small silver car.
One of the men was slim and around 5ft 9ins tall. He wore grey tracksuit bottoms, a black sweatshirt and white trainers. Another was wearing a dark top and was slightly shorter than the first man. The third man is described as chubby.
Did you see anyone hanging around the shop just before or after the incident, which was over by around 7.30pm?
Did you see a small silver car driving erratically in the area, and specifically Mansfield Lane, that evening?
