Police name driver who died near Saxondale

Police have named a 21-year-old man who died after his car overturned on a roundabout near Saxondale.

Officers were called to the crash at the newly-built roundabout where the A52 and A46 meet, at 4.40am Saturday.

Scott Mills, of Eastmoor, in Cotgrave, was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre with serious head and neck injuries.

He was pronounced dead a short time later.

Detective Sergeant Ged Hazelwood said: “As yet there are no witnesses that have come forward who saw either the collision itself or anything that may have contributed towards the collision.

“It is critically important that anyone who may have seen anything that can shed light on this tragedy contacts police on 0300 300 99 99.”
