Police say there are no suspicious circumstances relating to the death of a woman at an address in Bingham.

A cordon was set up front and back of the end-terrace property on Rockingham Grove for forensic examination and for officers to investigate the cause of the woman's death.

The Advertiser understands the woman, 40, had been ill.

There were no signs of injury, but blood was discovered at the house which prompted an in-depth investigation.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesman said the woman was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre where she was pronounced dead.

The spokesman said there were no suspicious circumstances and a file was being prepared for the Nottinghamshire coroner.

No arrests were made.

A neighbour of the man and woman who live at the house said she saw an ambulance outside at around 10am this morning and a woman was carried to it on a stretcher.

The neighbour said: "I used to see them in the garden and say hello. It was shocking to see the lady brought out on a stretcher and all of the police."

Another neighbour said she believed the couple had lived there for more than ten years.

"I only knew them to say hello too," she said: "But they seemed very nice."

"It's very worrying."
