CCTV images of a man thought to be using a credit card allegedly stolen in a burglary have been released by police.

The bankcard was reported stolen at about 4.35pm on Friday September 9 from a house in Rufford Road, Wellow.

The victim claimed a man knocked on the door at about 4pm that same day asking for a jug of water for his overheated car. She obliged.

She took her dog for a walk soon after and returned to find her black Peugeot 206 gone from the driveway and the front door kicked in.

Purses, cash cards, a handbag and car keys were also missing.

At 5.05pm later that day a man pictured in security images bought two packets of cigarettes at the Co-op in Calverton with a credit card believed to have been stolen in the burglary.

Police would now like to trace the man who they believe can help them with their enquiries.

Anyone who recognises the man or witnessed the burglary is asked to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 0300 300 99 99 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
