Police are asking the public for information after an attempted theft from a lorry parked in Newark.

Nottinghamshire Police was called following the incident which happened at a transport business in Abbott's Way on Thursday January 2 2014.

Between 1am and 1.30am two offenders slashed the curtain sides of eight lorries and, when finding bags of fertilizer inside, damaged the bags before leaving. They are not believed to have taken anything.

If anyone witnessed the theft or who has any information about it please contact police or Crimestoppers.

The force advises drivers to do as much as possible to help prevent themselves from becoming victims.

Advice includes parking in a visible, well lit area, rather than a secluded spot and to make their loads as secure as possible.
