POLL: Do you think the cattle market roundabout is dangerous?
The Department for Transport has revealed the cattle market roundabout is one the most dangerous in Britain.
The data was based on the number of accidents and casualties between July 2017 and July 2018, and the cattle market roundabout placed 18th with 10 accidents.
The roundabout, near Kelham Road, was the second highest in the county, behind Nottingham's Western Boulevard roundabout, which had 11 accidents over the 12 months.
London's Redbridge roundabout topped the list with 18 accidents. The majority of the list was made up by roundabouts within city centres.
The Department for Transport records were filtered so that only accidents taking place near roundabouts were shown. Any records without a map reference were excluded.
The accidents were then sectioned into areas, so that crashes on different sides of a roundabout were grouped together.
Work to carry out essential safety and maintenance work on the roundabout has since taken place.
The development, which cost £3m, developed not only the cattle market, but the Brownhills and Friendly Farmer roundabouts.
