Poppy Appeal launch

The Poppy Appeal was launched in Newark today (Tuesday).
Organisers are hoping to top last year's total of £36,650, but recognise with the credit crunch and the newly-announced spending cuts, the people of Newark and the surrounding area will have to dig deep for victory.
The Newark branch of the Royal British Legion has around 60 collectors but urgently need more.
