Newark's Pizza Express, on Town Wharf, to remain open despite closure of 73 outlets across UK

A popular Newark restaurant will remain open despite national closures.
Pizza Express, which has a branch in Newark on Town Wharf, announced the closure of 73 chains this morning (Wednesday, August 19).
It will see the potential loss of 1,100 jobs.
Zoe Bowley, Pizza Express's managing director for the UK and Ireland, said: "Unfortunately, the impact of the global pandemic has meant that we have had to make some incredibly tough decisions to safeguard Pizza Express for the long term."
