Power cut forces Argos in Newark to close

Argos on Carter Gate, Newark, has been forced to close because of a power cut.

The shop shut earlier this morning. A sign was put up on the window to let customers know they were not able to process any transactions.

"We are waiting for our engineer to come out and sort the problem but they are in Wales, so we don't know how long they will be," said the shop manager.

"There is nothing we can do about it but it has affected everything including the tills, our computer ordering system and our sales.

"We will reopen as soon as the problem is fixed."
