Coddington C of E Primary School students given gardening equipment by GF Tomlinson
Pupils at a primary school will be able to get gardening thanks to a gift of colourful child-sized tools.
The children of Coddington C of E Primary School have been given rakes, spades, forks and other equipment by construction company GF Tomlinson.
Teacher Mrs Louise Chappell, who leads the school’s eco team, said: “The children have enjoyed exploring the new gardening and eco equipment and are looking forward to using them to support their learning and to take care of the school environment.
“We are delighted to receive this very generous donation from GF Tomlinson. The tools and equipment will help support the Eco Council to look after and take pride in our school grounds.”
The company recently built a new classroom for the school, which is being used by children in the foundation classes, who were previously taught in mobile buildings.
Executive head teacher Mr Jon Brown said the new classroom building was making a big difference to the children and staff who used it.
“It is fair to say that the local authority has put in substantial investment to this school to support the school and the community.”
He said that now that building work was complete, the school would be able to focus on improving its outdoor surroundings, including developing its own forest school.
