Rose and Crown pub on Main Street, Balderton has donated £580 to Newark Dementia Carers' Group
Pub owners have donated over £500 to a charity that supports people with dementia and their carers.
The Rose and Crown on Main Street, Balderton have fundraised £480 pounds through a quiz night and raffles
Owners Donna Parr and Simon Parr have added an extra £100 to the amount to donate to the volunteer-led group – Newark Dementia Carers' Group.
The couple often fundraises for charities in the area, including Children’s Bereavement Centre, Newark Ambulance and Beaumond House.
They donated the money to the charity as some of their customers attend the group and one of those customers has recently died.
“Seeing the people here fit and healthy and with something good for them just feels like the right thing to do and support,” said Simon.
To which Donna added: “
“The way that this group is helping people with dementia and their families it is nice to give a bit back.
“If we can help them grow a bit more, do a few more activities it just feels right.”
The charity is fully self-funded and grows from donations and grants.
