A former town centre pub that has stood empty for years has been sold at auction.
The Wing Tavern, built in 1871, had a £100,000 guide price but went for £126,000 in the JH Walter sale in Lincoln.
The catalogue said: “The Wing Tavern is a town centre public house in need of repair and refurbishment.”
It said the building, next to Newark Parish Church, had potential for alternative uses, subject to planning permission.
The Victorian chimney in the corner of the beer garden was not part of the property.
