Rainbows, butterflies and the Earth feature on a silk banner made to mark a junior school’s environment week.
A total of 120 children at Hawtonville Junior School, Newark, helped to create the banner, which comprises 64 pieces of silk.
The children were helped by freelance artist Miss Kerry O’Brien, of Clumber Drive, Radcliffe, who returned to the school on Tuesday with the banner after joining the pieces together using a special glue.
It is now on display in the school hall.
Miss O’Brien said the children were allowed to paint anything they wanted and each silk painting was different.
“I have done some work there before and I do think they are wonderfully talented,” she said.
