Quartet to perform
The vale village of Barnstone will be alive with music on the afternoon of Sunday January 20 when local saxophone quartet Persiflage stages a 60-minute soirée in St Mary’s Church.
The event is being held in aid of church funds and promises an eclectic programme of music and readings. Special guest is vocalist Heather Thomas.
Persiflage draws from a diverse repertoire of traditional favourites and upbeat swing-style numbers.
The foursome features Bingham-based woodwind tutor Janet Hoare on alto saxophone, who is joined by Jill O’Sullivan on soprano, Jeffrey Fry on tenor and Phil Rathbone on baritone.
The soirée will be presented by Stephen Hoare.
It will start at 3.00pm. For tickets (£5, including refreshments), contact Hilary Yarnall on 01949 860963 or e-mail Hilary_Yarnall@yahoo.com - tickets are also available from Langar Post Office.
