Rocky Price, of Tolney Lane, sentenced for damaging police vehicle, motoring offences, and possession of knives in Newark
A repeat offender has been jailed for 28 weeks and ordered to pay compensation for offences including damaging a police vehicle.
20-year-old Rocky Price, of Tolney Lane, Newark, had his case heard at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court today (January 16), relating to a number of driving offences and criminal damage.
On October 12, 2024, Price drove without insurance and while disqualified on Strawberry Hall Lane, Newark, and also failed to stop for police on Lincoln Road.
He also damaged a police vehicle on Strawberry Hall Lane on the same day, and he was ordered to pay £100 in compensation to Nottinghamshire Police.
For driving while disqualified, Price was sentenced to 12 weeks in custody, and a 12 month disqualification, and his license was endorsed for driving uninsured.
No separate penalty was given for the failure to stop.
The sentencing hearing also saw Price handed a suspended sentence relating to two separate counts of possession of a bladed article on October 4, 2024, when Price was found to be in possession of a Stanley knife and a kitchen-style knife, in Newark.
For each offence, a 16-week sentence was given, to be served concurrently, however they will be served consecutively to the 12 week sentence, for a total custodial sentence of 28 weeks.
