Nepalese restaurant Everest Inn on Castlegate, Newark appeals for information after group left without paying
A restaurant is appealing for information after customers left without paying for a meal costing more than £90.
Nepalese restaurant Everest Inn, on Castlegate, Newark, posted a CCTV footage on social media after a group of youths left without paying on Sunday.
The group of four entered the restaurant at 9.45pm - 15 minutes before closing time.
“They said there were really hungry so we made a curry for them, despite the hours,” said a staff member.
It was reported that they tried to order alcoholic drinks by showing a driver's licence belonging to none of them.
The group ordered lamb curry and kept ordering rounds of drinks and naan bread, leading to a final bill of £94.70.
When the meal was nearly finished, it was reported that the group tried to pretend that the food had a hair in it in order to not pay.
“One of them said he was going to vomit, and we tried to scare them saying they would call the police if they refuse to pay,” said the staff member.
They were said to have left the restaurant one by one.
The restaurant is appealing to anyone with information about those involved to get in touch.
