Southwell U3A members swap December monthly meeting for festive fun
Members of the Southwell U3A got festive with their Christmas party.
The December meeting of the group was a little different to normal as the usual monthly get together was replaced by a party at Southwell Leisure Centre.
Entertainment was delivered by the U3A musical groups, including recorders, ukuleles, folk, and ended with two very amusing numbers and community singing of carols.
The musical items were interspersed with a presentation from the history of art group, and members of other interest groups delivered poems, extracts from literature and a winter photos slideshow.
Mince pies with hot drinks and a festive quiz added to the occasion.
Southwell U3A is part of a national network that aims to encourage like-minded people, no longer in full-time employment, to join together in educational, creative, cultural and leisure activities.
It offers around 70 interest groups, including woodwork and chat, jewellery making, flower arranging, book group/literature, cycling, family history and many more.
