Southwell U3A announces two new interest groups
A community group for those no longer in full time work has expanded its offering once again.
Southwell U3A has launched two new interest groups, relating to computers and psychology.
The groups aim to allow people to explore their interests, develop new hobbies, and learn new skills.
The first of the two further groups — which come after the announcement on three other new groups, art and design since 1850, ‘Small Wonders’, and science — is the Computer Help group.
It is designed to assist those who feel challenged by evolving world of technology, and members can get personalised support with everything from basic computer skills to troubleshooting common issues, or understanding new software and applications.
It has something for everyone — whether a novice trying to learn how to send an email, or someone wanting to upgrade their tech skills, the group provides a relaxed and patient environment where no question is too small.
Volunteers will be on hand to offer one-on-one guidance and group sessions, in an informal environment with a break for tea and coffee, followed by general discussion.
Also announced is the new Psychology group, which promises an engaging and interactive space for those interested in exploring the field of human behaviour and the mind.
For members interested in the history and study of psychology, then this group to get involved with.
Through presentations and discussions, there’s an opportunity for inquisitive learners to broaden their understanding of the complex factors that shape human experience.
